Gmail Is Much Better Than Yahoo mail

I have been using Yahoo mail for more than 8 years, I can definitely say that it has become pathetic over these years. The current email id i am using of Yahoo mail is my 5th id. This is because the last 4 Ids which I was using, suddenly stopped working. I was not able do anything else like sending emails, forwarding etc, except receive emails. Whenever I tried to send or forward an email I got an error messages something like ” Mail sending failed”, I think that the server has gone mad. When I complained to Yahoo Help Customer Center, I only received a typical, a kind of system generated replies on mail. It read “we are unable to duplicate the error message on your email account”. After trying for several times I am fed up with their customer service and finally deleted all past accounts and created a new account. And guess what would have happen, yes, after few days this id stopped working too. One common thing about all my past email ids and current id is that they have an extension in either “yahoo.co.in” or “yahoo.in”. My brother also has a yahoo id since last 10 years but never faced anything like that. The only difference is that his id has an extension yahoo.com. I wonder if its happening to all “.in” ids of Yahoo mail. But now its really frustrating to change your email id every now and then. So,I have switched over to Gmail and its working too good.

Yahoo Advices Users Of Firefox To Switch To Internet Explorer 8

I came to know  about this recently that,Yahoo is asking the  Firefox users to switch to Internet Explorer 8,saying that it is a new and  safer browser and they also added that, the users would get a  better experience when they use Internet Explorer 8 than using Firefox, but I don’t know exactly, from when this had started occurring. This may be a fresh and direct result of the recent Yahoo and Microsoft love fest.Ironically,a year ago, when Microsof failed a acquisition attempt, Yahoo gave a recommendation to its users on its very front page, advising the users of  Internet Explorer to switch to Firefox 3, which is more faster and safer browser than Internet Explorer. The fact is, browsers recommended by Yahoo are purely based on the latest business alliances,as Micheal said “The Safest Browser For Yahoo is The One Who Pays Him The Most”. My idea is, Yahoo can develop their own browser and market them, so that ,they can get rid of such confusions.

Gmail Catching The Race

Gmail being the third largest Web mail service in U.S ,as come out of beta. In a  report, taken in the end of july, has said that, Gmail had 37 million unique vistors this month compared to AOL which had only around 36.4 million visitors, then coming to Windows Hotmail which had around 47 million unique visitors and a wide gap comes separating Yahoo mail with its 106 million monthly unique visitors. The  is shown above in which the orange line represents Gmail. When i checked the Gmail’s progress at the beginning of this year,I thought that it would take more time around two years  for Gmail to catch up the race and get through its nearest rivals. But Gmail’s unique visitors has increased  upto to 25 percent so far this year,While there is a 22 percent declination for AOL.So,Gmail crossed its path in July. Inspite, Hotmail visitors increased only upto 8 percent,While Yahoo Mail has increased its unique visitors by 16 percent. I think Gmail will quickly cross the path of Hotmail if Google keep’s on adding new enhancenments through Gmail labs and increasing the mail storage capacity instead of allocating only 7,358 megabytes for a user, As i heared many of the users are running out of storage capacity. But don’t make them pay for more storage.

In September 2008, new Yahoo homepage was previewed and last month it has come live for many users of  U.S and it is about to roll out eventually for all the users around the world in the countries like France,India and the UK are lying next after U.S. The final version of Yahoo looks similar to the one which was caught in the wild March. The only difference,is that the left side bar appears without dark background coloring. In the new Yahoo home page, users can customize the page with widgets and apps which are available from the third parties.Yahoo and others have pre-created some apps, and as well other apps can be added. Based on the URL you supply Yahoo will make the app, they also don’t ask for RSS for creating it, but i am not sure how it is possible for them to create it without RSS.The main change is the personalized content, inspite of removing  many links to scores of  Yahoo service. Yahoo says that,Only few services of all are used by most of the people and it would be better to let the user to decide which would be present. Moreover,Yahoo version which allows users to synchronize up the customizations between their mobile and desktop is coming up soon.
