Twitter Search Is Coming To Google
Mere hours after today’s announcement that Twitter would now be integrated with Microsoft’s Bing search engine, Google has annouced that it too will include Twittter updates in its own search results. Marissa Mayer, Google VP of Search Products and User Experience, writes in a company blog post. Given this new type of information and its value to search, we are very excited to announce that we have ted murphy reached an agreement with Twitter to include their updates in our search results. We believe that our search results and user experience will greatly benefit from the inclusion of this up-to-the-minute data, and we look forward to having a product that showcases how tweets can make search better in the coming months. That way, the next time you search for something that can be aided by a real-time observation, say, snow conditions at your favorite ski resort, you’ll find tweets from other users who are there and sharing the latest and greatest information.
It’s worth noting that while Bing’s Twitter search is live today, it sounds like Google will be working Twitter’s data into its search results over the next few months. The next question is whether or not Google will get access to Facebook’s stream of real-time updates (Microsoft announced deals with both Twitter and Facebook at today’s Web 2.0 Summit). Neither of Microsoft’s deals with Twitter and Facebook are exclusive, which leaves the door open for Google to pair up with Facebook as well. But Google and Facebook have butted heads in the past. And Microsoft has a long history with Facebook: the companysupplements Facebook’s search with Bing results, and it controls a small stake in the company after investing$240 million at a sky-high $15 billion valuation back in late 2007.

Fading Of Google's Experimental Homepage
Google is a big fan of minimalism, which is known to everyone of us, especially when it comes to its famous homepage, Google tries to keep its word count in its homepage down upto 28 words, but it might be up to around 30 words. Experiments are being done by Google by taking that concept to a whole new level. This means that, bucket testing is done by the site to induce a new effect which hides everything on the homepage of Google aside from the search box and Google’s logo, only revealing the rest of the navigation elements with a nifty fade effect when you move your mouse. Some omissions from the homepage with the fade effect can be noted easily, especially the site’s “Google Search” and the famous “I’m Feeling Lucky” button are both missing and can be noted very easily. But,there is another screen shot in which these two buttons appears, so it seems that Google is testing multiple versions. Don’t worry as you don’t have the new, streamlined page, this is nothing but, a part of Google bucket test, this means that only a small subset of users have access to it.

Atlast Google Updates It's Search Box Too

Google continues to update it’s search experience through the algorithms and the way by which the results are displayed. But,the search box of Google was left alone without any update for long years except the fact that drop down were added for suggested results. The search box had a thin input field all these years. But now,Google thinks to make a change in it’s search box, especially the size of the in.Last week, when I was using Safari browser,I noticed that the search box appearing bigger to me than the previous one. I thought that it may be a fake to my eyes, but when I noticed the buttons, all buttons were square in shape, then I thought that, definitely there has been a change and found that Google has updated it’s search box.I am not the only person who noticed the change but there are many.It is a trivial update made by Google, as millions of people use Google for performing searches everyday.Just notice the previous Google search box which is below and see the difference from the new one which is above. This change first took place in Safari and slowly many reports say that it had been noticed in Firefox too.The Vice president of Google also confirmed about the update that has been made by Google in the search box.For more Google news visit Yongl.

Google Domestic Trends:An Overview

A new area of Google Finance known as Google domestic Trends has been launched by Google recently. The main reason for launching this is that, it allows us to take a look at various sectors of US economy and to see how Google Search index is performed by them.Google says that it’s main idea is to provide unique economic insight from volume of searches for related queries to a specific segment. This is a sort of great idea, but I don’t know it is actually smart to invest based on one’s search engine data. This is being proved by Google by using some compelling examples, If you take a look at a sales chart above for a past couple of years, you can see the results predicted with Google retail index are much closer to the predictions made without it.First it looks as if the data is little closer, but it becomes clear to us that the data is much closer when it starts in 2009.This is not the first time for Google to wonder that it’s search index could predict economic activity,as it has already wrote about it on its research blog somewhere back in April. The data provided by Google is open ended. The overall volume trend can be compared with Dow Jones, S&P 500, the Nasdaq or any other ticker symbol for each of the sectors,as Google does in the graph above, comparing it to its actual trends is not so easy.Basically, the information Google has is put out there, and our own homework should be done with it.Google is trying to make it’s finance sites more useful when compared to other competitor’s site.Data is the main key for all of this,so it is better to put the data out there and see whether the investors are interested in seeing this. This may give us a good idea for investing.

Google Listen:An Audio Search Engine For Android Powered By Google
Google Listen, latestly a new project that Google has added to Google Labs and it’s sure to crowd pleaser for Android users..Google Listen,is an Android application, which lets us to search through a web audio content, as quickly as possible. This application not only allows to search the audio content ,but it also allows us to download or stream the audio content directly to our phone. This application acts similar to a podcaster by allowing us to subscribe to audio feeds and new content is downloaded over the air. It is very simple to use this application, just go to the search bar, then you type and enter the thing whatever you are looking for,let it be a more general term or a specific podcast. The most relevant podcast and audio clips which are scattered across the web is pulled up by google ,then you can begin the streaming immediately. If you want to make multiple choices, you can build a queue, the playing of our subscriptions will be automatically begined by Google Listen, when it has reached the end of the playlist. At this point ,the application is indexing “ thousands” of content sources only in English, But Google intends to expand to other languages. At this time ,Google Listen is available only on Android. This is due to the reason that, application is still under development. A fact that, this application has been omitted from iPhone has created a big issue, because Google has got its application approved for App Store recently.Apple has also rejected a native application of Google Latitude and it has also banned all the Voice apps of Google in the past few months. For competing with iTunes podcasting functionality, Apple would have smacked the app down well.Whatever the thing is, Google rocks by supporting the devices it plans.

SEO.com Acquisition Of Graphics.net:Jumps To Web Design Buisness
SEO.com,which is a Online marketing and Search engine optimization company ,is now expanding his service along with acquisition of Graphics.net, by including Web designing/development along with other services. The acquisition of Grahics.net by SEO.com is for an undisclosed amount.Micheal Benson, has joined SEO.com as the Vice president of Web development from Graphics.net.Graphics.net is a Maryland based company, the acquisition of it by SEO.com makes sense,as SEO.com can combine website optimization with design services and social media applications. Its also interesting to note that,in the past,Graphics.net had did some design and other work for SEO.com.So,this makes clear that, there was already a collaboration between them. There may be more connections than this,as both are are portfolio companies of private equity firm WashingtonVC.Moreover ,this might not be an acquisition,as the capitalists may try to melt both of them together.SEO.com says that, after a decade, there was a considerable growth in its business and it has increased its size to five times in last year alone by increasing the number of working employees from 12 employess to more than 50 today and has moved its firm to salt lake county, which is a larger office. But ,it’s not clear for me,as I am not sure, how many employees from Graphis.net has transitioned to SEO.com.

Enterprise Search Is Now Upgraded By Google
Over a past few years, Google Enterprise Search offerings had a steady growth in its strength and innovation. In a report, taken in june ,Google finds that there are about 25,000 customers using enterprise search, this is more than the last year’s count which had around 20,000 customers. This gives us the conclusion that, more than half of the customers use Google’s search appliance and the other half of them users use only its hosted sites search and other enterprise products.Recently,Google has upgraded the enterprise search appliance (which is also known as GSA) ,by improving its scalability, which allows businesses to search billions of documents.Last week, Google has added two new tools for Google Enterprise Search. One is the Side by Side search comparison and another one is the, New connectors for the GSA,which are available in Google Enterprise Labs, which is moreover similar to Gmail Labs. The employees, can test and rate results from two different queries on the same data, using Side by Side search,so that they can find out which gives a better result. The preferred results can be voted by the employees by clicking any one of the results, this information helps the administrator to choose the right search solution and set the search solution for the business. This feature seems to be very useful for the administrators, who are trying constantly to make internal search capabilities more effective.Another new tool, offered by Google helps the businesses to connect to different types of online and offline data, for search functionality. The updated connector can be used to search across content management systems of the enterprise.A connector specifically for salesforce data is provided by google ,so that internal sales force data can be included by GSA in search results.

Google Increases The Number Options For Filtering Image Search
A intense competition between Google and takes place in the area of Image search ,but now bing has also joined in their competition.Google Images keeps on adding some new search options to make search easy by filtering search options by color, type and file size. The type is nothing but filtering by photo, face, clip art and line drawing.Mostly these type of filters are available only in advanced search options before, but today they are available in the left hand coloumn itself .A important note is that similar kind of option coloumn was introduced before two months to the main search page.A beauty is that more than one option can be selected to narrow down our search automatically.Another important option that Google can add is sorting by images with a Creative Commons license, this is already available in advanced sarch options, but it is hidden there. Both Yahoo and Bing have similar filtering options,Even though Google’s color filter is the most advanced,as it allows us to sort by twelve different colors, but Yahoo and Bing lets us to sort by color images or black and white images only. However a better job is done by Bing with related searches,in which Google is experimenting with in a slight different way trying to find actually what is needed,Wheras Yahoo does its own way of search using novel features ,which is not done by Google.Type a word “fruit” on all the three search engines and compare the results.
